# Troubleshooting

> Loader messages and overlay fixes for Ancient ARC Raiders.

Find the message shown by your loader below.

<div className="mk-faq-list">
  <Accordion title="Please launch SteelSeries moment overlay (FOR GEFORCE)">
    Switch the NVIDIA/GeForce overlay off, then back on. Keep it enabled before injecting again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Please launch SteelSeries Sonar overlay">
    Press your Sonar shortcut before injection. The setup uses **F7** for **Master — Volume Up**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The menu flickers or the game shows black screens">
    In **SteelSeries → Settings → Moments → Capture and sound**, turn off **Allow Moments to capture while gaming**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The bind button does not work">
    Inject again. If it still fails, run the overlay as administrator before retrying.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="No menu appears, or the loader closes immediately">
    Install or repair the [Visual C++ x64 runtime](https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe), then retry.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Error 0x296">
    Close the current session and inject again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Unknown network error">
    Check your internet connection and retry. If a VPN is active, test without it.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Failed to allocate memory / failed to map memory">
    Restart the PC and try again. Close nonessential startup applications. On a shared or internet-café PC, try another supported computer.

    If needed, inspect leftover third-party startup entries with [Microsoft Autoruns](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns). Do not disable Windows entries or unfamiliar drivers blindly.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Failed to load dependencies">
    Recheck [Getting started](/getting-started), restart and retry. If old third-party antivirus or anti-cheat drivers remain, remove them using their normal uninstallers.

    Check nonessential startup applications if the problem continues.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Please uninstall Vanguard / FACEIT first">
    Complete the uninstall-and-restart steps in [Getting started](/getting-started). If the loader still reports this message, send [MintKeys support](/support) the exact error and loader version before changing BIOS settings.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="AES instruction set is not supported">
    This loader needs a CPU with AES support. A software reinstall cannot add an instruction set that the processor lacks.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="VMX / SVM is not supported">
    Open **Turn Windows features on or off** and disable **Virtual Machine Platform** and **Hyper-V**, then restart.

    If needed, run this in an administrator Command Prompt and restart:

    ```cmd theme={null}
    bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
    ```

    This turns off the Windows hypervisor, not the BIOS virtualization switch. Do not delete Windows hypervisor files. If the message remains, [contact support](/support) with your Windows build and CPU.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Unsupported firmware / Unsupported Frimware">
    The loader expects a GPT system disk and UEFI boot mode. Check your current configuration before making changes.

    Disk conversion and boot-mode changes need a backup and a compatible Windows installation. Ask [support](/support) first and use Microsoft's [MBR2GPT documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/mbr-to-gpt), rather than formatting the drive.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A virtual or RAID disk is present">
    If you enabled the built-in spoofer, turn it off and retry.

    If RAID or a virtual disk is still detected, ask [support](/support) to review the disk configuration. Switching RAID/AHCI modes or reinstalling Windows can stop Windows booting or erase data.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Please disable Intel Rapid Storage Technology">
    Have [support](/support) check whether Intel RST controls your Windows disk before removing it. See Microsoft's [Intel RST guidance](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/e3c4b6d6-56ba-4ac5-be50-89843c9d9b22/uninstalling-the-intelr-rapid-storage-technology?forum=windows-all).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="CRD failed / Failed to init render">
    On a desktop, this can indicate an unsupported older graphics card. On a laptop, check that the game uses the supported dedicated GPU.

    Contact support before disabling integrated graphics in BIOS, especially if it drives your laptop display.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Incorrect HWID">
    Open an administrator Command Prompt and run:

    ```cmd theme={null}
    wmic diskdrive get Caption, SerialNumber
    wmic baseboard get SerialNumber
    ```

    Send support the error if either command fails. Some recent Windows versions do not include WMIC; a missing command alone does not mean Windows is damaged.
  </Accordion>
